Mark your calendars! The Sewtober Quilting Retreat will take place October 13 - 17. (That's right! You now have the option to stay FOUR nights!) More information coming in the future.
Learn to draw, color and sew each of the four types of spirals. We'll do Nesting and Baravelle spirals in part 1, Point-to-Point and Pinwheel spirals in part 2, then finish off with some basic design techniques for incorporating spirals into quilts. Along the way, you'll learn how to select fabrics by color, value, and pattern, and pick up techniques for foundation piecing that make it easier than ever. You will receive a pattern for a hotpad to make at home using your spiral blocks. Don't let the title scare you -- spirals are actually much easier than they look!
Just in case you fell behind but you still want to know what you're working towards.....here is the finished picture of the 2020 BOM/SOM (Block of the Month/Step of the Month)! What beautiful creation will you produce?

How do I decide what designs to put where on my quilt?" Layers & Lines answers that question.
We'll begin with four concepts: Story, Layers, Lines & Contrast. Together we'll work through a variety of simple, hands-on drawings that will teach you how to use these concept to create a quilting design.
Whether using a domestic machine or a longarm, after Layers & Lines, you will be able to create quilting designs that take your quilt tops from special to spectacular!
